Isn’t salad difficult to eat? I’m not the most co-ordinated person at the best of times, and I do struggle to spear all of the green stuff.  If you scoop it up it falls off and when you do finally manage to load up you realise the package you have got on the fork is a bit too big to get in the gob, so you’re trying to discretely fold it over on the way in. And that’s when it all falls off and you have to start again.

And a reminder: just click on any links you see on these pages to take you to Youtube or articles that are relevent.

Got a nice long one for you this week (ooh matron). So once again, put the kettle on, put your feet up and treat yourself to a slice of Battenburg while you tune in to my nutty world for a while. And I don’t care if you don’t like it, go and live in your own nutty world.

With regard to teaching, no matter how many courses and lessons I have delivered I always try to review what I have done and what worked well and perhaps not so well.

Many years ago when I did my teacher training and was working towards my Cert Ed one thing that stuck with me was keeping a teaching diary. They recommended it as way of recording your thoughts and also as a way of letting off steam. Which is actually useful.

So my prime reason for my monthly blog is to let off steam and then perhaps spread a little humour and common sense around in the process. And I do like to have a lot of humour in training (perhaps as you can tell), not practical jokes or pranks but just been able to stand back and have a laugh at ourselves and share what a prat you looked cos you forgot to put the gland nut on first and have to take the whole thing apart again.

Ultimately – we learn by our mistakes, including the trainer. I have found that smart people are usually the good-humoured ones. (Look out for a reference in a future blog in regard to Richard Fenyman about this).

Sometimes we get smart people who have the intellectual capacity to learn but are “broken”. They are very clever but something has gone wrong with their ability to connect to the real world. We can spot them a mile off. They regard themselves as very clever but the only thing that matters in their world is them. They are dangerous. I think these are the potential Sociopaths.

We occasionally get “Dead Fish” characters that think they are smart but are not, and struggle to understand anything, especially a joke. Smoking lots of dope and other sorts of drug abuse can do that.

What I can’t stand are the piss-takers, these are usually the dopey ones that have are actually cowards and try to cover their deficiencies by poking fun at people.

Try a little experiment, consider people from your school or relatives. How successful have the ones that enjoyed piss-taking become?

And sometimes we might even get a few that are normal, well-balanced people who are a joy to work with.

At this point I am absolutely delighted to post my best wishes to my Great-Grand Nephews Stanley and Reginald, May they live lives that are Happy, Healthy and Wise.

Regretfully, I wasn’t able to attend their Christening as I was away. However, Dad is a Sparky and Mum is a sensible girl who has her feet on the ground. I’m not so daft as not to watch from afar. so I really expect great things from this particular branch of the family and will be silently watching.

So where has Eduardo been this month? How about this:

Had a couple of spins on the motorbike around the Cotswolds.

Then I took myself off to Spain for a fortnight cos I could.

I was first introduced to Spain in the 1990’s by my very good friend Chris Jones and immediately fell in love with the country. I love the architecture, the landscape, the people and their culture.

Having said that, I wouldn’t dream of staying anywhere in Spain without air con, in July and August it’s sometimes too hot even for the Spanish.

It’s particularly hot in Andalusia, often in the 40’s and it’s not climate change. It’s always been like that, but the territory is stunning and I would have loved to ridden across it on horseback in my younger days.

I suppose I’ll have to settle for motorbike sometime now.

Still I digress, Calella was just the ticket, I had a cracking fortnight in Espania just taking it easy enjoying sun, sea and paella etc.

On my return to Blighty I dealt with training or consultancy for the following projects/clients:

Edenbridge (Kent) – Data Centre

Caerphilly (Wales) – Three back to back courses for an International Air Conditioning Manufacturer

Touching upon an electrical point, my Voltstick broke back in August. It was fine the weekend before the course when I checked all my kit. But when did it choose to break down? Right in the middle of a fkg training session of course, when I wanted to demonstrate how useful it could be.

Why did it break? Well I’ve had something like this before in electronic equipment. During those really hot August days the soldered battery connection just dropped off, weakened by the heat.

Had it happen in my Fluke multimeter during an excessively hot spell a couple of years back, the soldered connection on one of the probe sockets just fell apart.

But being British we shall maintain our composure and carry on.

And when the rain came, we found something else to talk about.

Who remembers this?

Sister Sledge - He's the Greatest Dancer (Official Music Video) [4K]

“One night in a disco on the outskirts of Frisco I was cruising with my favourite gang”

Naturally, as one does.

But let me tell you right now, that anybody that knows me can tell straight away that I was the inspiration for this song.

I mean come on, look at the rest of words - it’s really quite plain to see:

“He had the kind of body that would shame Adonis
And a face that would make any man proud
He's the greatest dancer”

If you watch the video you may even catch a glimpse of me cutting a rug… I’m sure you’ll agree all the clues are all there.

If I told that to the “Dead Fish” people they would just stare blankly ahead and wouldn’t be able to see that was just a little humour.

That’s what Stateside we would call a ”Tough Crowd”.

Back to reality though Ted, apart from the other stuff I’m no dancer. I can’t even walk a straight line. I could do “the bump” one time and that was about it.

I wouldn’t have dared to admit it back then, but I really would have liked to do “proper” dancing like the Waltz and Foxtrot.

Goes without saying I like Latin American stuff like Rumba and Samba etc. Alas my old knee wouldn’t let me try any of that nowadays but I can still enjoy watching.

At the end of the day, I really only wanted to do everything properly. And usually failed miserably, good job I’ve got a sense of Cockney humour from my old dad.

See, keep reading my blog and find out more things about me that you didn’t know.

You may have noticed I am letting more little secrets out of the bag bit by bit.

Miss a blog and miss a detail. You can aways looks back amongst my blogs, what have you missed already?

Or as I mentioned in last month’s blog about KC - “Betcha didn’t know that”.

Time to saddle up.
